Yes, you must have the boat inspected by a recognised classification organisation or a recognised surveyor who has been approved by the Seychelles Maritime Safety Administration to register a boat under the Seychelles flag (SMSA).

Following the inspection, the surveyor will produce a report that must be submitted with the other registration-related paperwork. If the vessel satisfies the requirements for registration under the Seychelles flag, the SMSA will analyse the report and make that determination.
